Life...

“Life is no straight and every corridor along
which we travel free and unhampered,
but a maze of passages,
through which we must seek our way,
lost and confused, now and again
checked in a blind alley.

But always, if we have faith,
another door will be open for us,
Not perhaps one that we ourselves
would ever have thought of,
But one that will ultimately
prove good for us.”

. . .

We have all known hurt. Heartache, like love, is an emotion that proves we exist. Hurt can be a slow, dull ache, or a sharp and not-so-silent void. It can create a stillness in our lives so profound that we cannot move until we come to realize that life is far too precious to remain motionless. Life holds hidden gifts in its hands, and even the most painful of all our experiences can lead us to awakenings that lift us higher and bring us closer to our faith. As we work through our grief, be it loss, change, or disappointment, is it important to know that we are never alone with our feelings and that we are all connected in some mysterious wonderful way.
